- How many people can the cottage accommodate?
- Gîte Cocoon accommodates 2 to 4 guests maximum. It's a charming cottage, ideal for a couple or a small family. It is not a group gîte.
- Are pets allowed at the cottage?
- Yes, 1 dog is welcome. We simply ask that it is well-behaved.
- What are the rates and minimum stay?
- Rates start from €155 per weekend. Check our prices page for seasonal details.
- What is there to do around Aywaille?
- The area is packed with activities: the famous La Redoute cycling climb passes nearby, the Monde Sauvage wildlife park in Aywaille, the Caves of Remouchamps, a nature reserve just steps away, and plenty of great restaurants around. Discover all activities on our activities page.
- How close is the nature reserve?
- You're practically there! As soon as you step out of the cottage in Sur la Heid, you're already walking through the Ardennes countryside. The village is surrounded by nature, and the reserve is just a few minutes on foot. No car needed — the Ardennes start at your doorstep.
- How do I book Gîte Cocoon?

- Is there parking and WiFi?
- Yes, free parking is available on site and WiFi is included in your stay.
- Is firewood for the wood stove included?
- Yes, firewood is provided free of charge during the heating season. Perfect for cosy evenings by the fire.
- Is there a safe place to store my bike?
- Yes, we have a secure bike storage area with a lock. Ideal for cyclists coming to ride La Redoute or explore the Ardennes roads.
- What languages do the owners speak?
- Véronique and Dominique speak French, Dutch, English, Spanish and some German. They can also say a few words in Korean!
- What are the check-in and check-out times?
- Check-in at Gîte Cocoon is from 4:00 PM and check-out is before 11:00 AM.
- Do you offer short stays for special events?
- Yes, stays whenever you like from 2 nights! For events such as the Formula 1 Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps, Liège-Bastogne-Liège or other sporting events in Belgium, we offer tailored stays. Contact us for these special cases.
- Is there a garden and outdoor space?
- Yes, Gîte Cocoon has a large garden with a barbecue and table tennis. Perfect for enjoying the outdoors in the Ardennes.
- Is the cottage suitable for babies?
- Yes, a baby cot is available on request.
- Are bed linen and towels provided?
- Duvets and pillows are provided, but you need to bring your own duvet covers, sheets, pillowcases, bath towels and tea towels. A starter kit is prepared in the kitchen with salt, pepper, paper towels, brush and washing-up liquid.
- Do I need to clean before leaving?
- Cleaning products, dishwashing supplies and bin bags are provided. We ask that you leave the cottage tidy before departure.
- How does booking and payment work?
- A 30% deposit is required at booking, and the balance is due 6 weeks before arrival.
- Is smoking allowed inside the cottage?
- No, the cottage is entirely non-smoking indoors. You may smoke in the garden.
- How far is the cottage from Liège and Brussels?
- The cottage is located in Aywaille, about 30 minutes from Liège and 1h15 from Brussels by car. Easy access via the E25 motorway.
- Is there a discount for longer stays?
- Yes, a 5% discount is offered for a 2-week rental or for a return visit.
